The Feast Continues: Thirsty Anyone?

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 26, 2011

Since the debut of Aleron this summer, author Kane has been on a steadily inclining trajectory. After debuting in New York City and Atlanta to a warm reception, he headed for the book festival circuit, picking up a fair amount of fans along the wayreaders, critics and book clubs alike. Following the launch, as he readied for the Decatur Book Festival in September, he was notified that hed won the Readers Favorite Award in the Best Fiction- Horror category. Kane says, This journey has been so far beyond my expectations. I was honored to have received such a prestigious award for my first book. Then I was humbled and inspired when I met the great Walter Mosley at the Southern Book Festival. I take all of this as a good omen of greater things to come. Im on the right path.

Kane left a comfortable job and career in Fiber Optics and Design to pursue writing full time. Writing had always been his passion, since he discovered his talent in junior high school. He felt it a good time in his life to be dedicated to his art and make a career of what he loved versus what he liked. As he embarked upon his new incarnation, he married his fascination with the immortality to his passion for writing. So serious was he about delivering an above par, historically accurate product to readers, he traveled to Romania to do extensive research on vampire lore and its origins, which resulted in the birth of Aleron.

Aleron is the first in the 5-part vampire series, Strigoi, meaning troubled souls of the dead rising from the grave. Set in the 18th century, the novel chronicles the life of the vampire Aleron from his seduction into immortal life by his mother-lover Mynea to his coming into his own strength and infinite power as a vampire and his experiences going forward with this knowledge. The novel is both an historical excursion and a tale of deceit and passion between the undead. The reader travels with him through time and through his challenges as he is continually adapting to his new life.

Kane continues on to exhibit and do signings at Bell Book & Candle Ghost Festival on October 22nd in McDonough, GA, the New Orleans Book Fest on November 5th, author signing at Barnes & Noble Forum Shops in Norcross November 12th at noon, and the Miami International Book Festival on November 18-20, where the Spanish language version will be available. On October 27th, Kane expands his reach into cyber space with his first official #AleronBookChat, virtually hosted by book clubs and other twitter favorites. The chat starts at 7pm EST on Twitter. Kane, his followers and fans will discuss the complexities of love relationships between immortals, his research and travels to Romania, the fascination with vampire lore and the next book in the series.
