WCPE Radio announces a special Meet the Announcers event at Quail Ridge Books and Music, the premiere event of a new Local Arts collaborative series from WCPE Radio and Quail Ridge. Each WCPE announcer will speak briefly about his hobbies, favorite music- classical or otherwise- and the path to a radio career. Audience members are invited to learn about the announcers and speak with them in person.
"We want to strengthen our ties with classical music lovers," WCPE Community & Arts Liaison Tara Lynn says. This event will showcase the diversity in our announcers' backgrounds and interests but highlight our shared passion- the music. WCPE Radio is grateful for a renewed partnership with Quail Ridge Books and Music, and the chance to further a commitment to the arts community.
Quail Ridge has a long history of supporting local arts organization. Now we will work together to promote our common interest in a stronger classical music community," Lynn asserts.

WCPE announcers talk about what brought them to the radio station, the kind of music they listen to in their free time and which one piece of classical music they could not live without. The announcers also claim these distinctions:
-One announcer danced the role of the Prima Ballerina Assoluta in the Grand Pas de Trois from "Swine Lake."
-One WCPE announcer hosted a morning show in Thailand in the 1960s.
-One announcer actually has the entire Interstate System memorized and can tell you how to get between any two points in the US without looking at a map.
The answers will be revealed in an evening full of surprises. Bring your camera and have your picture taken with your favorite announcer!

WCPE's new Local Arts Series, in collaboration with Quail Ridge Books and Music, invites arts groups to talk about their contributions to the community and provide an excerpt from an upcoming performance.
