Fayetteville, AR (PRWEB) December 2, 2009

Bookcircus.com, an affordable online alternative for buying and selling textbooks, announced today the launch of its iPhone application. Available today, Bookcircus.com for iPhone allows students to find buyback prices on books they wish to sell, and sell them back immediately via their iPhone.

In preparation for the fall semester buyback season, Bookcircus.com has launched Bookcircus.com for iPhone featuring an easy to use interface allowing speedier sellbacks. Bookcircus.com for iPhone was developed for college students who are ready to graduate to a more convenient method of selling back textbooks than bookstores offer.

Bookcircus.com for iPhone is easy to use. Simply, enter the ISBN or title of the book and instantly see how much Bookcircus.com will pay to buy back that edition. Then, confirm the titles to be sold and shipped and Bookcircus.com will provide a printable packing slip for free shipping and instructions for mailing, all over email.

We are excited to improve the speed and ease of book sellbacks for college students. With Bookcircus.com for iPhone students can sell back books from any location, said Park Anders, President and CEO of Budgetext, parent company of bookcircus.com. Now students with iPhones can enjoy the convenience of a mobile bookstore instead of waiting in line at on-campus buybacks.

Bookcircus.com is an online provider of new textbooks, used textbooks, study aids, reference materials, classic literature, and bestselling novels. Students can buy used textbooks as well as sell back books they are no longer using via the online site.

Legacy IP Announces its Smartphone Digital Wallet Patent Application Number 12/650,278

Santa Cruz, CA (PRWEB) November 16, 2011

Legacy IP announced today they're exploring the sale and or licensing of their US patent application 12/650,278, entitled HAND-HELD ELECTRONICS DEVICE FOR AGGREGATION OF AND MANAGEMENT OF PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DATA. The application reads on a smartphone with credit card management and transaction technology.

"In 2008 we invented a new smartphone that incorporates the technology of both contact and contactless credit cards. Our idea merges a smartphone with credit card and smart card transaction capabilities to create the world's first digital wallet. The invention enables the user to store and access all their credit card and personal identification data within a smartphone. Once the data is captured the user can access any of their credit cards by selecting them through the associated software app. Once the user has selected the credit card they'd like to use the card data is written to an internal rewritable blank smart card which is stored within the smartphone, after which the card ejects and is ready for use in transactions according to Peter Garrett, CEO of Legacy IP.

US patent application 12/650,278 represents a growing trend in the integration of credit card transaction technology and smartphones. With the launch of Googles Mobile Wallet and Googles recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility were confident this market will continue to expand and the demand for IP that reads on this technology will grow with it, said Paul Regen, President of Legacy IP.

Legacy IPs smartphone IP portfolio continues to grow. At present there are three applications (12/650,278, 12/651,214 and 12/559,671), all with filing dates reaching back to 2008.

Logicalis Addresses Cloud Clients Application Worries

Farmington Hills, MI (PRWEB) November 15, 2011

Moving applications to the cloud can result in significant improvements in resource utilization, scalability, functionality, development/testing efficiency and maintenance costs. Even so, not every cloud customer reports dramatic improvements why not? Logicalis, an international provider of integrated information and communications technology (ICT) solutions and services, says changes have to be made to the applications and supporting processes to leverage the clouds features to the fullest.

From an application standpoint, moving to the cloud often involves rethinking how an application is built and tested. The cloud is a great place for developing and hosting applications. But too often, customers fail to re-architect their application in a way that captures all the benefits the cloud has to offer.

Moving an app to the cloud as-is is like using a sleeping bag on a brand-new king-sized bed. The cloud gives an application space to stretch out, unprecedented monitoring to be comfortable, and as many services as it needs to be warm, says Brian Day, director of cloud solutions for Logicalis. But clients have to look at the entire application eco-system as well as their own end users to reap the rewards. Its possible to run parts of the ecosystem in the public cloud and others in the private cloud, but understanding where to split applications to minimize latency across the network is a precise science that can have a dramatic impact on performance. Equally important is the manner in which the end user accesses the application. This is where a cloud-savvy solution provider can prove extremely beneficial to the client in helping define these parameters and make appropriate changes to the clients applications that will help them increase the benefit they obtain from entering the cloud.

Based on its cloud consulting experience, Logicalis has outlined five important tips clients need to know when moving applications to the cloud.
